Sittingsuits was founded on a passion for providing sustainable and comfortable warmth in outdoor settings. Rebecca Johansen and Vibe Johansson, the company's co-founders, joined forces to create a unique product that caters to various industries and empowers businesses to maximize their outdoor spaces.
Johansen, a seasoned restaurateur with over 16 years of experience, sought an alternative to blankets and outdoor heaters for her guests at Axelhus & Axelbar in Elsinore, Denmark. With 450 outdoor seats combined, she needed a solution to keep patrons warm and comfortable in all weather conditions. Inspired by her observations of people enjoying long hours outdoors in cold weather, Johansen decided to develop a product that would benefit both her own businesses and the industry as a whole.
Designer Johansson shared Johansen's vision of creating sustainable and comfortable outerwear. Together, they developed the Sittingsuits concept, carefully testing and refining the 1 design for maximum warmth, comfort, and durability. The duo launched Sittingsuits in Johansen's restaurants in 2019 and soon expanded to serve a wider audience.
The company strives to continuously improve its products, exploring new materials and designs that enhance the outdoor experience while minimising environmental impact. They collaborate closely with brands, businesses, and talented artists to develop unique designs that represent both their style and the Sittingsuits brand.
